Check It Out!

Hi SMQG!   Hope this warm day is finding you happy and crafty.  Maybe a bit warm to be sitting under a big quilt, but not to hot for a little Mug Rug!

This little cutie was constructed from my "Modern Improv Block" created at our April meeting.  Thanks to Corrie for showing us how to put our rulers and patterns away and let our creativity lead the way.  I freemotion quilted my block (batting, no back), added the "J" and then folded and sewed.  A little topstitching and a couple lines of additional quilting, and that was it!

On the sidebar ======>  you will see a list of upcoming events.  Look for more details about meetings and local events in future posts.   Also, the information about our next swap will be posted soon, in case you missed the meeting or (whoops!) misplaced your copy.

Wouldn't this blog be even more wonderful if there were more pictures of YOUR latest projects?  If you would like to email some my way, send them HERE.  Give a description, method, or story about your project.  (should it be "modern"?  sure!  does it have to be a quilt? nah.)

This is our SMQG blog.  Member content is welcome!  Encouraged!  Begged for!!! Have something you want to share?  An idea?  Need help or inspiration on a project?  Don't wait til next meeting - email it to Jen and it will magically appear on the blog.  We would love to see what you are working on, both here and on our Flickr page.  Read a great article? blog? quilting book?  How about a review and recommendation for the group!

Finally, keep watching the blog for ideas, more info about Modern Quilting, and *gasp!* maybe even a GIVEAWAY!!!
